University Prep Science & Math (UPSM)

University Prep Science & Math (UPSM) is a public charter school district providing a specialized educational path preparing students for the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers of the global economy. Through Project Lead The Way (PLTW) students are prepared to become innovative and productive leaders in STEM fields. UPSM Schools are dedicated to academic superiority, personalized learning plans and hands-on career experiences through sophisticated community partnerships.

At UPSM, students participate in a rigorous curriculum designed to fully prepare them for success at select colleges and universities. UPSM teaches advanced math, science and technology skills—as well as English, history, foreign language and the arts — through project-based learning and application in real-world career settings. UPSM partners include higher education institutions, private sector businesses and non-profits, and major cultural centers.
A 90/90 school, UPSM is at the center of a powerful movement to produce vibrant, high-achieving, college-ready youth across metro Detroit. UPSM’s mandate is to graduate at least 90 percent of its students and send at least 90 percent on to college — no matter what it takes.
