How can I become a member?
Becoming a Science Center member is easy and convenient. You may come down to the Science Center and join at our front desk, or contact us by email, phone or mail. For phone orders, please call 313-577-8400 ext. 433. To order by mail, print off the form from our website and mail to:

Is what I pay tax deductible?
Yes. Our membership packages are 100% tax deductible. For details on tax deductibility for other membership packages, call the membership line at 313-577-8400 ext. 433 or e-mail us at [email protected].
How do I renew my membership online?
Make sure you check the renewal membership box before you submit.
Is there a discount for renewing or purchasing more than one year?
Yes, there is a $10 discount per every two years purchased.
What will be included in my membership package?
Included with your membership is a welcome letter, membership cards, a listing of organizations where you may use your new membership, information about new events at The New Detroit Science Center and our visitor's map. MEMBERSHIP CARDS AND INFORMATION
How long does it take to get my membership card?
We will make every effort to have your membership package reach you within 10-14 business days. If it is beyond 14 days, call the membership line at 313-577-8400 ext. 433 or e-mail us at [email protected].
Can I use my membership without my membership cards?
Membership cards must be presented at the Member's Entrance. All family members must show their membership cards. In the event that you do not have your membership card, you may use a valid I.D.
When is my membership activated?
Your membership is active as soon as you receive your membership package.
Is my membership card valid at other science centers?
Yes. As a DSC member, you receive free or discounted admission to museums that participate in the Travel Passport Program sponsored by the Association of Science Technology Centers (ASTC). Click HERE for a listing.
A complete listing also is sent with your membership packet. Special exhibits, planetariums or theaters may not be included at other museums. Science centers within 90 miles of The New Detroit Science Center do have agreements with us to provide reciprocal membership benefits for our members. Please contact your museum of choice before you visit.

What should I do if I am already a member, but I still receive membership solicitation?
The Science Center makes every effort to avoid duplications; however, this cross-checking of potential membership lists is not foolproof. Any variation of name or address prevents identification of the duplicate record. If you are a member and receive an invitation to join the Science Center, call the membership line at 313-577-8400 ext. 433 or e-mail us at [email protected].
Does The New Detroit Science Center exchange its membership records with other organizations and how can I prevent mailings from other organizations who get my name from you?
Yes, we exchange our membership lists with other like-minded organization. If a member does not wish to have his/her name exchanged, we are happy to honor that request. You may call the membership line at 313-577-8400 ext. 433 or e-mail us at [email protected].
