Monthly Construction Journals

The construction images were captured from our roof-mounted Motown Cam. They show the southwest and southeast sides of the construction site. Be patient; some of the pages may take time to load, depending on the speed of your browser.

June 2001
The exterior of the building is essentially complete! This will be the last entry for the Monthly Construction Journals - two images.

May 2001
It has been one year since we started posting these Construction Journal images! The glass for the stairway tower is completely installed - one image.

April 2001
The final roof surface is installed, and a "concrete pumper" pours cement - three images.

March 2001
More of the outside wall panels are installed - three images.

February 2001
The insulation and outside wall panels are being installed. Scaffold is erected next to the new stairway tower and windows are installed -- five images.

January 2001
The exterior walls for the east side of the building and the Digital Dome Planetaruim are built. The Digital Dome is installed - nine images.

December 2000
Cement blocks for the Digital Dome Planetaruim walls are going up - two images.

November 2000
Installation of metal sheeting for the elevator/stairway tower roof, steel on east side of building, I-beams for the Digital Dome Planetaruim seats and scaffold for building the planetaruim walls - five images.

October 2000
The new elevator/stairway tower rises. Metal sheeting for the concrete floor and roof is installed. The floor of the Digital Dome Planetaruim and Plaza Level is poured - nine images.

September 2000
Steel beams for the south expansion are put into place - six images with a link to two other images showing new steel work on the north and east side of the old Plaza.

August 2000
